Gregorius Nielsen Tufte: He was born in 1788 on the farm Sem in Gjerpen, and baptised November 23rd. His parents were NielsGregoriussen Semb and Marthe Halvorsdatter. He married Aug 1st 1820 Maren Gurine Jansdatter, who was born Nov 2nd 1802 on the farm Tufte by the parents Jan Halvorsen Tufte and Asloug Halvorsdatter. She was baptised June 8th.Gregorius settled in 1844 on the west shore of Pine Lake on what is now the Mary Eschweiler place. His direct descendents lived there until July 1956.Gregorius and Maren Gurine had the following children: Inger Margrethe b. June 13, 1821 on Tufte. She married June 22, 1847 Daniel Peter Simonsen Jønnevald, who had emigrated in 1843. She died April 11, 1858. Andrea b. Aug 9, 1824 on Tufte She married Dec 7, 1848 to John Ellefsen Bestul, who was born in Gjerpen June 11, 1828 and died Oct 21, 1879, buried at Spring Prairie Luth Cem. Niels b. Sept 19, 1827 on Tufte Died before parents emigrated. Gro b. May 16, 1829 on Tufte Not married. She died Febr 9, 1917, buried near Nashotah, Wisconsin. Niels Tufte/ Semb b. Nov 1, 1832 on Tufte He married Jan 7, 1874 Inger Evensen Bestul. He died Dec 25, 1884. He served as 1st lieutenant with the 15th Wisc. Regmt in the Civil War. Inger died Febr 13th, 1907. They had the sons: Eddie (ca 1869 - Oct 14, 1947), Clifton, and Arthur (b. Oct 24, 1906)
Niels Tufte/ Semb. Maren Gurine b. June 15, 1835 on Tufte She married Findanus Gasmann She lived in 1917 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Johanne Helvig b. Jan 3, 1839 on Tufte She married August Gasmann. She died March 31, 1917. Jahn b. Nov 4, 1841 on Tufte Jan b. Oct 19, 1844 at Pine Lake Gregorius died June 4, 1868 and Maren Gurine on Febr 17, 1898. They are both buried at St. John's Cemetery in Dodge County.
Daughter Inger Margrethe is buried at St.Johns, Stone Bank.

Bank. Gregorius and
