Hans Christophersen Rød:  He was born May 1, 1819 in the small farm Rød under the farm Kise in Gjerpen. His parents were Christopher Hansen Rød and Magnild Christensdatter. Hans married Inger Karine Halvorsdatter on February 15, 1844. She was bornAug 12, 1820 on the farm Aas in Gjerpen by parents Halvor Isaksen Aas and Randi Larsdatter.They had the following children, all born in America:	Christopher                       b. May 16, 1845   	Anna Maria                       b. Dec 18, 1846              married Dec 8, 1892 to Halvor Solvesen Rosvald	Hans Lauritz                      b. Febr 24, 1853	Inger Kirstine                    b. Sept 21, 1854Hans died Sept 19, 1885; Inger Karine on Nov 4, 1897, and they are both buried in Ashippun Luth. Cemetary.
          Hans was known locally as “Hans the Tailor”.There are remnants of his house foundation and lilac bushes still there where
             his house stood. They are both buried in St. Olaf’s Luth. Cemetary. (1)
