Lars Larsen Gulseth:  He was born March 30, 1806 on Svartangen under Meen in Gjerpen by parents Lars Hansen Svartangen and his second wife,
Inger Halvorsdatter from Holla, Telemark. His father had first been married in Sept. 9th 1795 to Ingeborg Pedersdatter, who died already in 1802 in childbed. 
He then married in Porsgrunn, Telemark Oct. 16th 1803 to Inger Halvorsdatter. 
Lars Larsen (Svartangen) married May 11, 1830 to Ingeborg Gurine Thorsdatter fra Ballestad(39), who was born Oct 18, 1807 by parents 
Thor Helgesen Ballestad and Guro Torgrimsdatter.
He bought the farm Gulset(20) in Gjerpen in 1842 and he sold it in 1846, just before they left for America.
By the time of the census in 1845, they lived on Gulset and there they harvested 1/8 barrel of wheat, 7/8 barrel of barley, 1 4/8 barrels of oats and 
4 barrels of potatoes. They had 1 horse, 2 cows and 4 sheep.

They had the following children:
Gurine Larson           b. April 4, 1831, married John P. Johnsen, b. April 1817 in Norway and died July 21, 1879. She died Nov 7, 1915. 
	                    They are both buried in the Gjerpen Lutheran Cem, Manitowoc Co, WI. Children: Julia Marie, b. Sept 25, 1851, 
                                    Isabella  Matilda, b. Febr 23, 1854
Inger Larson              b. Sept 7, 1833 and married 1850 Ole Andersen, b. July 27, 1827, d. Febr 25, 1891. She died Sept 19, 1909. 
                                    They are  both buried in the Gjerpen Luth Cem, Manitowoc Co, WI. Children: Anton Ilai, b. Sept 15, 1854, 
                                    Julia Emilia, b. April 19, 1857, Theodore Olavus, b. June 29, 1859, Georg Torvald, b. April 25, 1862, 
                                    Inanda Lovise, b. July 23, 1864, Laurine Marie, b. June 13, 1867, Ida Olava, b. January 20, 1874
Thor Larson               b. Sept 28, 1836, married May 23, 1870 Ragnild Johannesdatter Stokland from Bø in Telemark. He served in 
                                    Co. F, 15th WI Regt. in the Civil War, and moved in 1868 to Ben Wade Township, Pope Co., Minnesota.
Robert D. Anderson of Phoenix, Arizona has made me aware of Thor's biography on the website of the 15th WI Reg., -- Thank you, Robert! ) Thor Larson was county commissioner and treasurer. Moved in 1902 to Walla Walla, Washington and died in Ortin Washington August 26, 1926. Thor and Ragnild had many children: Ludvig, b. Sept 12, 1871 (d. March 5, 1952), Anton, b. Oct 8, 1873 (d. April 23, 1948), Anne, b. March 3, 1875 (d. 1944), Laura Marie, b. Jan 18, 1877 (d. March 27, 1903), Theodor, b. February 25, 1879 (d. June 8, 1959), Johan Martin, b. Dec 12, 1881 (d. April 25, 1933), Gilbert, b. Aug 7, 1884 (d. 1884), Julia Enanda, b. Dec 31, 1885 (d. Oct 19, 1915) Lauritz Larson b. Febr 5, 1840, married 1871 Margit Arnesdatter, born 1852, daughter of Arne Knudsen. Children: Louis Albert, married Christina, daughter of Ole Eliassen Anne Kirstine Larson b. Sept 2, 1842, married Jan 19, 1862 Thor Larsen Ballestad Marie b. Sept 2, 1845. Hans b. 1846(?) in Wisconsin Henry b. Febr 1849 His first wife Ingeborg Gurine died on December 12, 1859, and he married July 24, 1862 Kristi Gundersdatter, daughter of Gunder Halvorsen and Ragnild Aslaksdatter from Bygland, Aust-Agder. She had emigrated from Bygland in 1861. They had the following children: Ingeborg Larson b. June 21, 1863 Gunnar Larson b. Jan 22, 1866 Aslak Larson b. May 3, 1868 Lovise Larson b. Nov 6, 1870 Gusta Regine Larson b. June 22, 1873 Karl Johan Larson b. Nov 8, 1880 Oskar Lawrence Larson b. Nov 8, 1880, d. Jan 8, 1881.
