Halvor Solvesen Rosvald: He was born April 28, 1823 on the farm Rosvald in Gjerpen, Norway. His parents were Solve Engebretsen Rosvaldand Karen Gundersdatter. He married Nov 17, 1856 Anne Andersdatter, who was born April 12, 1838 and died Sept 29, 1883.They had 11 children: Carl Edward b. Oct 14, 1857 Caroline Andrea b. Jan 12, 1859 died Febr 18, 1879 Pauline Marie b. Jan 27, 1860 Albert Severin b. Jan 6, 1862 Emma Josefine b. Jan 8, 1864 died Sept 5, 1864 Otto Gustaf b. March 25, 1865 William b. 1867 (??) Emma Arvine b. May 14, 1869 died Oct 24, 1879 Alfred b. 1871 Johan Andreas b. March 26, 1874 Anna Isabella b. Nov 7, 1878 died May 18, 1879After his first wife died, he re-married January 28, 1886 to Gunhild Kirstine Pedersdatter Baaserød. She was born April 4, 1845 and diedJune 1, 1891). She was born In Wisconsin by parents Peder Christophersen Baaserød and Maren Margrethe Gundersdatter.He married a third time to Anna Maria Hansdatter Rød on Dec 8, 1892Halvor died Nov 6, 1904 and is buried in Ashippun Lutheran Cemetary.
According to Ulvestad II, page 925 - Halvor emigrated from Rosvald in Gjerpen in 1844 with his parents. This is not correct. His father emigrated the year after, in 1845, together with his second wife Marthe Alfsdatter Krageto. They were pioneers in Dodge County. Halvor's son Edward was a farmer at Oconomowoc.
